The Madison Savoyards, Ltd.
The Madison Savoyards, Ltd. is a non-profit corporation registered in the State of Wisconsin and having an Internal Revenue Service designation as a section 501.c.(3) organization. Contributions to the Madison Savoyards are income tax deductable.
There are no permanent staff and all administrative and support work is done by volunteers coordinated by the Board of Directors. There is an Advisory Board of interested individuals who meet usually twice a year to advise the Board on issues of interest including production, venue, finance, fundraising, publicity, promotion, and advertising.
The members of the Board of Directors are elected to three year terms by the general membership. Members of the Madison Savoyards are current contributors, cast, production crew, and volunteers. There is an annual meeting of the membership in the summer after the annual production.
The Madison Savoyards produce one major production every summer and other smaller productions at other times. The newsletter, Savoyardage is published four times annually.
Our mission is to produce authentic productions of the incredibly wonderful works of Gilbert & Sullivan. Prof. John W. Barker's article provides many detailed and interesting insights into these unique creations.
